What My Work Is Actually About

My figurative paintings are of women - women in moments of pause, of power, of confidence - and I paint with very few marks deliberately, because the point is that you fill in the rest yourself.

Each person who looks at a piece brings their own story to it, and I think that's what makes my collectors describe my paintings the way they do: not as something beautiful on the wall, but as something that gives them strength on a difficult morning, or that they look at with their coffee every day and feel something in them settle, or that makes a friend walk in and ask, who painted that?

I started a series years ago called 'Owning It' - which was about exactly what it sounds like, owning your narrative and the version of yourself you're in the process of building - and even as my style has evolved toward something more minimalist and expressive, that thread has never really left the work - as more and more, it has become a belief that I hold myself.

Most of my collectors are not seasoned art buyers - they're everyday art lovers who saw a piece of original figurative art and felt something they couldn't quite explain. They just knew that it spoke to them, or it gave them a powerful feeling: and so if something here is speaking to you, l'd really encourage you to trust it.
