Creating a minimalist vibe in your home

Do you ever feel like you have too much stuff? Your papers are piling up, your purchases are adding up, and everything seems to be building up!

Now might be the perfect time to pare back, and create a more minimalist vibe in your home. But what does this mean? How can you achieve the look?

Here are my top tips for creating a minimalist vibe in your home:

1) Neutrals, neutrals, neutrals. It’s all about those natural and earthy tones to create a sense or feeling of nature. This doesn’t mean your space can’t have any colour, but use it more sparingly and avoid big splashes of colour in your furniture or finishings.

2) Add a sense of calm and relaxation into your space. This is where art can help create the vibe you’re looking for. You want your guests to feel it, your family to feel it, and you to feel it.

3) Eliminating clutter can be key towards achieving a minimalist look. Have a clearout, and be ruthless! Are you ever going to need that paperweight from 20 years ago? If in doubt, keep some valuables in a storage area that no one can see (including you)!

4) Maximise room size and create a sense of space. Here’s where a beautiful piece of art can draw your eye to key elements in your room and make your space look open and inviting.

Feeling inspired? Now’s your chance to achieve that minimalist look you’ve been after. Head over to Instagram, Pinterest, and of course my website shop for further inspo!
